Tonight at 7:30, UCLA (5-1, 2-1) will head to Autzen Stadium to try and slow down the high-flying Oregon Ducks (7-0, 4-0) in a pivotal Pac-12 clash that could have major implications on the BCS title game picture. Tonight's game features several players expected to be drafted high in the first round of the NFL draft. The biggest name among them is Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, who has completed 62.4 percent of his passes in 2013 for 2,051 yards, 19 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He's also rushed 49 times for 493 yards and a whopping nine touchdowns.
UCLA coach Jim Mora believes Mariota will succeed with flying colors in the NFL. "I had a couple guys ask me, NFL guys, if I thought he could play at the next level," Mora said. "I said, 'Have you not watched him? I mean, he'll rip it up at the next level.' I mean this guy is ripping it up at this level. He's really special."
He will have to contend with linebacker Anthony Barr, though, a potential top-three pick who leads UCLA with 11 tackles for loss. The Bruins also have their own NFL prospect at quarterback, Brett Hundley, who drew praise from Oregon's coach Mark Helfrich even if he's playing behind a hobbled offensive line.
"Hundley's the type of guy that can work with that, being an athletic guy, being a versatile guy, who can run, who can throw, who can make plays, (the) quick game down the field, all the things that they do."
