The Lakers scored one of the biggest upsets in NBA history as they cruised to a 112-95 win against the Warriors on Sunday at Staples Center.

ESPN reported that the win was the biggest upset in NBA history in terms of win percentage difference. The Warriors held a .727 win percentage margin heading into the match with their league-best 55-6 record. The Lakers were 13-51, the second-worst record in the league.

Jordan Clarkson led the Lakers with 25 points, while D'Angelo Russell had another productive night with 21 points to go along with five assists, four steals and three rebounds.

Sophomore forward Julius Randle had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, Brandon Bass and Nick Young had 13 points apiece, while Kobe Bryant added 12 points in 24 minutes.

The Lakers leaned on a strong second-quarter performance, scoring 38 points against Golden State's 28. They never looked back, not allowing the Warriors to mount a comeback. They limited the Warriors to just 13.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc and forced the defending champions to commit 20 turnovers.

"We got what we deserved," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game. "When the ball doesn't go in, you have to win with energy and defense and toughness, and we didn't have any of that."

Reigning Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry, who is averaging 30.7 points to go along with 6.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds this season, was limited to 18 points and shot just 1-for-10 from the three-point range. Klay Thompson, who finished with 15 points, also failed to hit a three-pointer for the Warriors.

But despite the loss, the Warriors are still on pace to break the 72-10 regular-season record of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. The Warriors currently hold a 55-6 record, which is one-game ahead of the 1995-96 Bulls, who were 54-7 after 61 games, ESPN reported.
