Terrell Owens is now hoping and planning on becoming a professional bowler. That's not to say Owens has completely given up on his desire to rejoin the ranks of NFL players, but in the meantime the PBA will suffice.
"You never know where it may go," Owens told HuffingtonPost.com. "For me the sky is the limit with my ability and what I can do."
With that fighting spirit in mind, Owens will competing in the PBA World Series of Bowling at the South Point hotel's bowling center. "I'm not just making a cameo," he told the HuffingtonPost. "I know critics want to come out of the woodwork. But when I first got on a football team I wasn't very good."
Earlier this summer, Owens competed at the United States Bowling Championship on a team sponsored by the Bowlers Journal. The event is largest amateur event in the country and Owens posted a combined score of 1,508 for team, singles and doubles for a 167 average.
"I know I have competitive ability to do it otherwise I wouldn't be doing it," he said. "I just have to go out there and bowl like everyone else. I'm going to have fun with it, see where I am, and make some adjustments after that," Owens said.
Owens played 15 NFL seasons with five different teams, catching 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns.
