Without the legends who paved the way, WrestleMania may never have grown into the huge spectacle it is today.

That's why when the WWE broadcasts WrestleMania 32 live from AT&T Stadium in Texas on April 3, several of those icons will be involved. The WWE has plans for several legends to play a role this year, according to The Wrestling Observer.

Reasons Goldberg Should Return At WrestleMania

While most of the legends won't make a comeback to mix it up in the ring, they can all impact the card in several different ways.

Here are possible roles for each of the wrestling greats.

Projected Card For WWE Roadblock 2016

1) 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

Since the "Texas Rattlesnake" will be right at home, it's a shame he can't wrestle. It was also a shame when his Hall of Fame career was cut short due to injury. Despite the neck ailment ending his in-ring life, Austin entertained the masses by turning himself into the Sheriff. The WWE should once again instill Austin with the power to make decisions, even if it's for just one night, by playing guest GM.

2) The Rock

Dwayne Johnson already revealed that he will be a part of the show in some capacity, without divulging too much. Last year, he shocked the world with Ronda Rousey. Since he can't wrestle due to movie commitments, The Rock should dust off his WrestleMania XXVII role and play host to the spectacle.

3) Shawn Michaels

Though the "Heartbreak Kid" reportedly turned down the role of being the guest referee for the main event, hopefully he'll reconsider it. You can't have the biggest show of the year without Mr. WrestleMania, and having Michaels, another Texas native, serve as guest ref adds a storyline wrinkle by having Triple H's challenger, Roman Reigns, dealing with the reigning champion and his best friend.

4) Ric Flair

"The Nature Boy's" role should be fairy obvious as he'll be in his daughter Charlotte's corner as she defends the Divas Championship against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. Flair should take it a step further by doing everything in his power to try and keep the belt on Charlotte ... after all, he's the dirtiest player in the game.

5) Mick Foley

Speaking of Divas, Mick Foley's daughter Noelle told TMZ "there is something in the works" between her and WWE. Perhaps the blonde bombshell can make her debut at WrestleMania, alongside her father, to confront whoever emerges out of the Divas Championship bout with the gold. It could also add an extra layer to the antimosity between Foley and Flair.

Which legend are you most looking forward to seeing at 'WrestleMania 32?'
