Russell Wilson should look to another athlete-celebrity couple for an example of how to be a great step-parent.

The Seahawks quarterback has become very acquainted with his girlfriend Ciara's child, baby Future. While Wilson has grown close with Future, including making his day at Dodger Stadium recently, if he needs any advice, he can turn to Gabrielle Union.

The "Being Mary Jane" actress has been married to Dwyane Wade since August 2014. Union has become a great step-parent to his sons Zaire, 14, Zion, 8, and Xavier, 2, and his nephew Dahveon, 13.

Union said she's "lucky" to have the kids in her life and offered some pointers on how to handle it without getting overwhelmed.

"My advice is just to be fair, reasonable and consistent," Union told Us Weekly. If you're going to be a pushover, be a pushover. If you're going to be a disciplinarian, be a disciplinarian. But be consistent so that [the kids] can get used to whoever it is that you are."

Wilson has a great bond with baby Future, despite the opposition of the child's father, rapper Future.

Union also said she and Wade have been trying to have a child together, but their lack of success hasn't been as frustrating due to her "dope" stepkids.

"So far, it hasn't happened for us," Union said last September. "A lot of my friends deal with this."

Even if Union and Wade aren't able to conceive their own children, she's setting a great example of how to be an amazing step-parent, which Wilson should follow.
