Colin Kaepernick wants out of San Francisco and there are many reasons he should do everything he can to leave.

Colin Kaepernick Shows Immaturity With Revenge Stunt

Just days after new head coach Chip Kelly intimated the quarterback wanted to remain with the 49ers, reports broke that he's dying to get out. Kaepernick's agents have requested permission to seek a trade, according to ESPN.

The quarterback's $11.9 million base salary for 2016 is set to kick in on April 1. There are myriad reasons Kaepernick should want to get out of San Francisco.

Colin Kaepernick Goes Public With His Girlfriend

1) Insult & Injury

Kaepernick certainly has had his struggles over the past couple of years. This past season, the desperate 49ers pulled the plug on him after a Week 8 drubbing against the Rams, announcing Blaine Gabbert would start over him in Week 9.

After the insult, came the injury. The 2012 NFC champion revealed in November he needed shoulder surgery that would end his season. It's hard to imagine he's gotten over the benching.

2) Steady Decline

The 2012 and '13 seasons that saw Kaepernick help lead the 49ers to back-to-back NFC Championship Games seem more and more like a distant memory. Though they came up short to the Ravens in the Super Bowl at the end of the 2012 season and failed to get back the following year, those painful losses were as close as Kaepernick and Co. have gotten to a title.

In 2014, the team fell to 8-8 and it then dipped below .500 (5-12) last season, in its worst campaign since 2010 -- the year before Kaepernick was drafted. A change of scenery could help Kaepernick revert back to his previous form.

3) Nessa Diab

Kaepernick didn't leave his heart in San Francisco, he left it in New York.

The quarterback reportedly desires to play for the Jets so that he can be close to his girlfriend Nessa, an MTV star and Hot 97 DJ in New York City. The Jets are likely to bring back Ryan Fitzpatrick under center and the Giants have a franchise quarterback in Eli Manning, but perhaps Kaepernick can at least latch on to a team on the east coast.
