Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, the San Jose Sharks (8-0-1) and Boston Bruins (6-2-0) go head-to-head live from the TD Garden in Boston. The game can be live streamed here. San Jose fans can hear all the action on Classic Rock KFOX 98.5 while Boston fans can do the same on WBZM-FM 98.5.
These two teams come in as two of the best in the NHL, with the Sharks having yet to drop a loss in regulation through nine games this season and the Bruins having not lost in regulation since Oct. 12. San Jose's record is the best in the league and the Sharks boast 17 points, the most in the NHL as they sit atop the Pacific Division. Boston comes into tonight's matchup in third place in the Atlantic Division, with their 12 points two behind the top seeded Toronto Maple Leafs.
In an interesting storyline, two brothers square off as Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton faces his brother Freddie Hamilton.
"If we are, it's going to be really cool," Freddie told CSN Bay Area on the prospects of matching up against his brother on Wednesday. "It's going to be cool for both of us, and our parents. We're hoping. It's definitely going to be a strange, but cool, experience."
San Jose topped Detroit 1-0 in a shootout Monday and will look to continue their strong start. The Sharks have five players in double digits in points withJoe Pavelski (three goals, nine assists, 12 points), Patrick Marleau (7-4-11), Logan Couture (4-7-11), Joe Thornton (1-10-11) and rookie Tomas Hertl (7-3-10). All five players are in the NHL's Top 16 in scoring.
The Eastern Conference champion Bruins have showed exactly why they were two wins away from the Stanley Cup last season by picking up right where they left off this season. Milan Lucic and David Krejci pace the team as Lucic has a team-high five goals and four assists for a team-leading nine points while Krejci has one tally and a team-high seven helpers for eight points.
The Bruins are coming off of a 5-2 victory on the road against Buffalo Wednesday night and Tuukka Rask should be in net after having the night off last night. Rask is 5-2-0 with a 1.29 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage. Meanwhile, in net for San Jose is Antti Niemi who has started all nine games this season and has yet to drop one in regulation. Niemi is 8-0-1 with a 1.4 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
Two of the NHLs' hottest teams go head-to-head tonight as the Bruins try to keep pace with Toronto in the division and the Sharks look to continue their unbeaten streak in regulation.
