Ronda Rousey's dark thoughts in the aftermath of her loss to Holly Holm were very troublesome, but that doesn't mean she thinks it's taboo to talk about them.

As a matter of fact, it's something that hits close to her and she wishes was discussed more openly. Following her second-round knockout loss to Holm in November, "Rowdy" revealed she had thoughts of suicide -- a topic that she is already all too familiar with.

Holly Holm Won't Don Body Paint Like Ronda Rousey

"My dad and his father both took their lives," Rousey revealed to TMZ. "It's really heavily affected our family ... anything I can do to make sure it affects as few people as possible, I'd be happy to do that."

The former UFC women's bantamweight champion turned a lot of heads with her revelation on "Ellen" last week, but she believes there shouldn't be such a stigma when it comes to talking about depression. Rousey feels if it's discussed more openly, it could help people dealing with mental health issues.

Ronda Rousey's Flame Travis Browne Officially Gets Divorced

"I feel like there's been an overly negative light on [discussing suicidal thoughts]," Rousey said. "It's something real people are going through, not something like a weakness that we should condemn."

The formerly undefeated MMA fighter also believes she can help those in need by relating to them. She's already got the ball rolling by being forthcoming about how she felt and what she's been through.

Rousey said she relied on her boyfriend, fellow MMA fighter Travis Browne, as her rock, but knows that some people aren't lucky enough to have that special someone in their life.

At least "Rowdy" is trying to help them by showing it's okay to talk about it.
