Like most of the WWE Universe, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin realizes Roman Reigns has some work to do before being "the man."

The WWE Hall of Famer also believes the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has a ton of potential.

Possible Swerves To Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon At WrestleMania

Austin recently discussed the upcoming WrestleMania event, which will see Reigns battle Triple H for the richest prize in the game at AT&T Stadium in Austin's home state of Texas on April 3. It will mark the second straight year Reigns headlines the biggest event of the year, as he faced Brock Lesnar last year.

The "Texas Rattlesnake" admitted Reigns hasn't quite perfected his craft yet, though he believes in him.

Potential Outcomes To Triple H vs. Roman Reigns

"Roman Reigns isn't quite there yet," Austin said on Ring Rust Radio, "but he will be one of these days, so he does have a great opportunity. ... They got work to do."

Austin's sentiments ring similar to the WWE Universe. Reigns has become as polarizing a figure as John Cena, but unlike the "Cenation" leader, the leader of the Roman Empire's body of work hasn't provided enough evidence to show he belongs in the biggest match of the year.

The six-time WWE Champion also said Reigns is a "super cool dude" and that he's "gonna be fine."

Austin added he doesn't blame Reigns for trying to make the most of his opportunity as the wrestling legend would have never said he wasn't ready when the WWE pushed him to become the face of the Attitude Era. He also knows Reigns still has a lot of climbing to do.

"Roman Reigns has a good body, [is] a good looking guy," Austin said, "but he does have to bring the work up. The company is going to him, and with that being said, he does have to bring up his end and that's in the work and the performance."

Reigns will get the chance to prove himself -- whether the fans like it or not -- at WrestleMania 32 on April 3.
