While new UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm remained unapologetic in her role that lead to Ronda Rousey's passing thought about suicide, she also gave MMA's most popular fighter a pep talk on how to regroup.

When Holm was a women's boxing champion, she lost her title in 2011 to Sophie Mathis. The two fought again six months later, with Holm reclaiming her title.

Ex-Mike Tyson Manager Says Ronda Rousey Has 'No Business' Pursuing Rematch With Holly Holm

Holm explained her mindset after her loss and how she prepared for her rematch and also actually offered advice to Rousey on how to get herself prepare to return to the octagon to the "Sports Office," a video segment on Albuquerque's CBS affiliate.

"When I was going through for that rematch, so many people are like, 'Oh, you're going to retire now, right?' And I said, 'No, I'm going for a rematch,'" Holm told "Sports Office" host Van Tate. "And I feel like a lot of people are talking about that with Ronda.

Ronda Rousey Suicidal Talk Over Loss To Holly Holm Is Serious Red Flag For Rematch

"When you from being at the top to people thinking you should retire, it's a really hard thing to swallow. Obviously, somebody's seeing something, and if you're being honest with yourself, you're thinking. 'Why are they saying this?' ... But there's a reason they don't fight and I do. I'm going to come back from this (loss to Mathis).

"And that's what she needs to do, is believe in herself and realize that she's her own person, and be honest with the things that got you a loss are the things you need to work on. It doesn't mean that it's over; it doesn't mean that it's the end."

Unfortunately, there's a hint that Rousey is not yet being completely honest with what happened. In her interview with Ellen, Rousey said that she was tired from having had three title defenses in nine months.

"I don't think anyone's ever attempted that," she told Ellen.

That's not true, according to Uproxx.com.

"There were 37 instances of a fighter having three title fights inside of 300 days," Uproxx.com reported. "It should be noted that some fighters ... had four title fights, with the first and third and the second and fourth taking place less than 300 days apart. So, technically, two different instances. Anyway, of those 37 occurrences, only seven included the bout where the champion lost their belt."

Holm's comments should only add to the intrigue leading up to the possible rematch in November.
