Holy Holm is also the champion when it comes to navigating herself through awkward situations.

The reigning UFC women's bantamweight champion was forced to address Ronda Rousey's startling comments where the former title-holder admitted she had suicidal thoughts after losing to Holm at UFC 193 in November.

Holm was blunt in addressing the strange spot she found herself in, but her comments were commendable.

"There's a lot of things around that. When I heard that she said that, for me it's one of those things it's like, 'How do I respond to that?'" Holm said at a media event in Albuquerque, according to Sherdog.com."I don't want to say I'm sorry because I think on a competitive level for me, if somebody was to say they're sorry after [beating me], it's like, 'No, I'm a competitor.' I'm not a charity case."

Though some may take Holm's comments as a sign of insensitivity, it would be wrong to assert that. The UFC is a highly-competitive sport and while Holm was unsure how to respond, she did admit she felt bad for her formerly undefeated adversary.

"I don't want to say that I'm glad that she felt that way and I don't want to say, 'Oh I'm so sorry.' It's something I think that you have to dig through on your own. In the long run, she'll be stronger mentally from it."

Rousey's entire career changed in the fight with Holm. One swift kick to her head ended it all. Her reign as champion was over, her unbeaten streak gone by the wayside. In the hospital following the loss, Rousey admitted she was in a dark place and thought about ending it all.

"Honestly, my thought, I was like, in the medical room and I was down in the corner," Rousey told Ellen DeGeneres in a tearful interview that aired Tuesday. "I was sitting in the corner like, what am I anymore if I'm not this? And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself at that exact second."

Luckily, Rousey was able to rally out of that hole and hopefully toward an eventual rematch with Holm.
