King Barrett has some bad news for his WWE fans -- he's leaving.

The 2016 King of the Ring has given the WWE notice that he won't be re-signing with the company when his contract is up in June, according to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet.

Barrett has dealt with myriad injury problems throughout his years in the WWE, which has left the company gun-shy on giving him a major push. The Superstar is part of the League of Nations stable, but he's been serving in a managerial role for his teammates as he recovers from yet another ailment -- this time to his neck.

The five-time Intercontinental Champion is said to be unhappy with his standing in the company. The WWE has had some major blows lately, including Daniel Bryan (concussion) retiring and injuries to top stars such as Seth Rollins (leg), John Cena (shoulder), Randy Orton (shoulder) and several others.

Luckily, Barrett's reportedly planned date for departure will give the company some time to get its main stars back.

The England native burst onto the WWE scene as a part of OVW in 2006 and was a key part of NXT in 2010. That run included the compelling storyline that saw him lead the Nexus in an invasion angle against the WWE, which ultimately fizzled out.

This could be another case of speculation as there were similar rumors Dolph Ziggler was leaving last year until he re-signed with the WWE.

Between now and June, anything can happen between Barrett and company officials.
