Turns out, the only person who can stop Javier "Chicharito" Hernández is Javier "Chicharito" Hernández. The striker could be out for at least three weeks with a torn muscle fibre in his left gluteal muscle, per ESPN.

The injury came during Bayer Leverkusen's 3-1 loss to Werder bremen in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Liverpool Desperate To Sign Chicharito

"We will most likely be without him for the next two weeks," manager Roger Schmidt said. "The injury is a bit unusual, and we can't really foresee when he'll be fit again. The healing process can take one, two or three weeks."

"In Stefan Kiessling and Chicharito we have two real attackers in our squad. We need to play differently in attack at Darmstadt. The key to success will again be courageous defending, and independently from Chicharito's absence we need be more dangerous in front of the goal as a team, also the midfielders."

Chicharito Was Right To Leave Manchester United

The biggest blow for Schmidt and company won't come this Saturday at Darmstadt, though. It will come during Bayer Leverkusen's Europa League tie with Sporting Lisbon. The first leg in the Round of 32 comes on Feb. 25, well within Hernandez's recovery period.

Since joining from Manchester United, the Mexican international leads the club with 22 goals in 26 appearances. Schmidt must now find the tactics to accompany his new personnel, but it won't be an easy task.

Sporting Lisbon are currently level on points atop the Primeira Liga with Benfica.
