Two clubs in opposite halves of the Liga MX table cross paths on Friday, as Veracruz host America.

Las Aguilas have quickly recaptured their superclub form, undressing Santos Laguna 2-0 in Week 5. Since the embarrassment of Week 3 -- a 4-1 loss to Pachuca -- America have outscored their opponents by a combined 5-0.

Things haven't gone as well for Veracruz.

A 2-1 loss to Queretaro in Week 5 leaves the Red Sharks near the bottom of the Liga MX table with three points. They are still in search of their first victory.

What They're Saying

Veracruz captain Leobardo Lopez (via Esto): "The team is in good spirits. The truth is, our spirit is not lost even though we haven't achieved the results we wanted. We know the key is to overcome this, to reverse this situation. We have an important game against one of the biggest clubs in Mexico, in Latin America."

America manager Ignacio Ambriz (via Esto): "We travel calmly. We know this is a complicated game. Veracruz play well at home and if we want to win, we have to be focused. At this club, the demands are too high and even more when you win. The demands rise with winning. We're going to Veracruz with the hopes of getting a good result, to win."
