Troy Aikman wants the Cowboys to draft Tony Romo's replacement. They'll take it a step further with the next Cam Newton if they select Carson Wentz.

The North Dakota State QB has risen up draft boards since his appearance at the Senior Bowl. Several mock drafts have Dallas selecting him No. 4 overall. With that much attention coming his way, comparisons are only natural.

But rather than buy into the Joe Flacco comparisons, NFL analyst Bucky Brooks went the Newton route.

"The comparison comes from watching Wentz play in the fall and watching him execute some of the concepts and tactics that Cam does for the Panthers," Brooks said, per NFL.com. "Designed QB runs, powers, draw plays, some of the zone-read things, that leads me to believe a creative offensive coordinator could implement some of those things for him to take advantage of his unique athleticism for a guy his size.

"People say Flacco and some other guys [when making Wentz comparisons], but he's far more athletic than that. He's not the physical specimen than Cam is but, he is a big-bodied, athletic QB who is very comfortable running and putting his body in harm's way."

The comparisons bode well for Wentz, so long as he's willing to talk to the media.

It's not like the Cowboys can afford anymore bad press after Greg Hardy.
