Terrell Owens was snubbed for the 2016 Hall of Fame class, and because of how he carried himself during and after his career, many people weren't moved by his plight. Skip Bayless, co-host of ESPN's popular show "First Take," was one of them.
Bayless said Owens "internally tore apart three very good teams," meaning the 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys. Bayless said T.O. publicly feuded and attacked all three head coaches, the coordinators, and quarterbacks, except for Dallas, where Owens famously cried because Tony Romo was being treated unfairly. Bayless has been known to mock Owens' "T.O." moniker to stand for "team obliterator."

Owens has since gone on The Rich Eisen Show to talk about the criticism he's taken, and Bayless' remarks about how he contributed to his teams getting worse.
"No no no. I mean, Skip is Skip. I mean, he's an idiot," Owens told Eisen (via Sporting News). "I was a good target for him and sometimes I think he just needed to say my name just to make himself seem somewhat relevant."

Owens also took to Twitter to prove he made his teams significantly better, at least if the teams' records are the measure of improvement.

Owens has quite the statistical case to make the Hall, especially over Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison, who was elected.
Player | Owens | Harrison |
Years Played | 15 | 13 |
Receptions | 1,078 | 1,102 |
Receiving Yards | 15,934 | 14,580 |
Receiving TDs | 153 | 123 |
All-Time Receptions Rank | 6 | 3 |
All-Time Rec. Yards Rank | 2 | 7 |
All-Time Rec. TDs Rank | 3 | 5 |
Owens played two more seasons, and ranks higher all-time in receiving yards and touchdowns. Based on his teams' records before and after having him, Bayless' argument is struggling to hold water, and Owens has a legit gripe about being left in the cold.
