No one expects Danica Patrick to do much at next week's Daytona 500, so it only made sense for the NASCAR driver to steer women toward different careers.

Patrick -- who is yet to win a single NASCAR race -- was the keynote speaker for the Palm Beach State College Foundation's Steam luncheon on Wednesday. The program is designed to empower women to become champions of careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Danica Patrick Needs To Commit To Racing If She Ever Wants To Win

"I don't feel different. I want to encourage people to do what they love to do and go after it," Patrick said, per CBS12. "I think it would held me back and made me feel insignificant and incapable of things and I'm not.

"Try to be the best you can be and don't think how you are different and let that hold you back. I like being unique and different in this sport and take advantage of it. Anything can happen, you have to be ready for all that."

Danica Patrick Found A Sport She Might Actually Win In

Well, anything but an actual victory on the race track.

Vegas has taken notice of Patrick's shortcomings. The 33-year-old is a 50/1 favorite to finish first at the Daytona 500, according to Bovada, per Oddsshark.com.

Twenty-two other drivers are favored ahead of her.

With odds like that, why wouldn't you ask future generations to follow more successful paths instead of your own?
