Dwyane Wade will be in a precarious situation again, something similar to the last offseason.

Wade turned down the $16.1 million player option which could have saved the Heat a lot of trouble but the Flash wanted something that was more of long-term.

With Pat Riley and the Heat scurrying to find a solution to the issue, rumors cropped up like crazy linking the All Star guard to teams like the Cavaliers and the Lakers as mentioned on Sports Illustrated.

In the end however, Wade settled for a one-year $20 million deal with the Heat. But with the season more than halfway through, Wade knows he will be in that situation again.

This early, Wade says that he wants negotiations for his next contract to go quickly. Per Real GM, Wade wants to do away with the drama and simply get it over with.

Based on what he said, it seems Wade is not planning to jump ship this coming offseason and is mainly focused on what his new deal would be rather than be in the trade rumor mill like what happened in the 2015 offseason.

The problem here is that all that may not be on Wade’s hands. The Heat are already tight on the salary budget area and then there is the curious case of Hassan Whiteside.

The seven-foot shot-blocking demon is expected to be among the new millionaires and due a max contract which could further push the Heat to the wall.

While multiple teams are likely to try and woo Whiteside with enormous figures, the Heat will have to do a lot of pencil-pushing and convincing to keep the rising center within its ranks.

And if that happens, Wade’s salary could take a hit and probably lower than what he is actually receiving.

With that in mind, it may not be an easy offseason for Wade since there are a lot of prerequisites he needs to consider.
