CM Punk will finally fight and his opponent has been declared.

The man given the privilege to be the former WWE Champion’s first opponent is officially Mickey Gall, who made an impression in his second fight in the UFC.

Gall was up against Mike Jackson for UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas with Punk among the curious spectators on Saturday. The bout didn’t really take that long, ending in just 45 seconds. Gall started off with punches, but eventually made the statement win with a rear-nake choke submission maneuver.

“Last time I was on the mic, I was talking about one guy,” said Gall via Yahoo Sports. “CM Punk. [And] I’m still talking about CM Punk -- I want to be fed, I’m hungry -- feed me CM Punk, please!”

The short stint was a sign of things to come. And apparently Gall intends to use that same game plan – punch hard to the face and finish him off with that submission choke hold.

Punk thereafter entered the Octagon to cordially congratulate the 24-year-old neophyte. Neither combatant talked trash, but handshakes ensued after the two finally came face-to-face.

The next time that the two will meet will probably be during the official press conference for the showdown, a date for which has yet to be determined.

"Very impressive. That's how I want to win a fight -- no damage. That has to be a great feeling," Punk said via Fox Sports. "I'll find out after I beat Mickey Gall."

With regards to the likely game plan that Gall will give him, Punk was expectedly unfazed.

"I know what he does ... I don't care how hard somebody hits. I try at all costs to avoid getting hit, anyway," he said.

It will be interesting to find out how far Punk has gone as far as prepping himself for his first UFC fight.

After suffering a setback in late 2015, it's almost time to see if working with trainer Duke Roufus will pay off for the former wrestler.
