Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine are promising stars for the Timberwolves, but somehow they still lack that certain spunk that can place them among the ranks of reliable guards the NBA has right now.

Any work on the two will likely happen in the offseason. And the good news is that someone they played recently has offered to work with them if the T-Wolves would be interested -- Kobe Bryant.

The talk comes from interim coach Sam Mitchell himself. Pressed into a corner for a reported heated relationship between the two, Mitchell put a stomp on that claim.

Should this materialize, Wiggins and LaVine would likely benefit immensely. LaVine has showed promise, but the more interesting part is Wiggins.

Raptors Taking Big Chance With Disgruntled Suns Forward

Wiggins entered the NBA playing the forward position, but was somehow moved to the off guard position by Mitchell. What started out as an experiment in the offseason has now become a regular for Wiggins, though more work has to be done.

That should be a welcome development for the T-Wolves, though one has to wonder if the Lakers would come up and ask Bryant to do the same for their own mix. With the five-time NBA champion retiring at the end of the season, a role helping the young Lakers seems imminent.

Then again, it could be a part-time gig similar to what his former teammate Steve Nash did when he retired last year.
