Kings coach George Karl is aware that there are rumors swirling that he could be fired soon but until that happens, he intends to focus on his job and getting the team back on track.

A lot of the heat on Karl began when the Kings suffered another loss to the Nets, 128-119.

According to Yahoo Sports, Karl has allegedly lost the vote of confidence of management and trust from the players, which are now being singled out as likely reasons for the coach's dismissal.

But as far as Karl is concerned, he would prefer to buckle down to work and tinker with the problems the Kings have. That is if there are any.

"My preference would be it wouldn't be there," Karl said about the speculation via ESPN. "But there's always energy today. Then once something gets out, it magnifies and grows and becomes a storm. That's not my storm. My storm is the Boston Celtics."

This isn’t the first time that Karl’s name has been drawn into a possible firing. Though not as loud, team owner Vivek Ranadive said at the time that he would rather fire Karl than trade DeMarcus Cousins.

It was the time when both Karl and Cousins were at odds, but somehow such died down. But now, the issue seems to be more than the Kings star player.

"I don't think I'm in limbo," Karl said. "I think I've got a heckuva challenge [against] a team that's played damn well -- probably it's best basketball in the last six weeks. If you want to overreact to the last four or five games, that's somebody else's reaction, not my reaction. I think this team is still in a place that we can solve some problems and be good."

Rajon Rondo has heard the rumors, but doesn’t believe it is too much of an issue.

“It's just part of the business. Coaches fired, players being traded -- there's no difference."

With the NBA All-Star Game coming up, it will be a tricky week for Karl and the Kings. If ever he does end up getting the pink slip, the word around is that former player and current assistant coach Corliss Williamson will be installed to succeed Karl on an interim basis.
