Kris Bryant is expected to be a huge part of the Cubs 2016 lineup ... if he makes it to Opening Day in one piece.

The unanimous 2015 NL Rookie of the Year Award winner has had an eventful offseason, which included him popping the question to his longtime girlfriend Jessica Delp in December. Now, he and Delp are giving Cubs fans heart palpitations.

The couple is enjoying their vacation in Hawaii this week, and they decided to go swimming with sharks. To further traumatize the Wrigley faithful, they took videos on Instagram which depicted just how close to the action they were.

Bryant, who turned 24 in January, is a huge piece on the promising Cubs this year. The third baseman set the world on fire in 2015 while helping to lead Chicago to the NLCS for the first time since 2003, where they were swept by the Mets.

Last season, Bryant hit .275 in 151 games with 26 home runs and 99 RBIs, and the Cubs certainly hope his production will continue in his sophomore season.

Bryant is part of a very young, talented infield for the Cubs and the team made huge improvements this offseason. Chicago added Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist to its lineup and brought in John Lackey to a rotation that boasts NL Cy Young Award winner Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester.

The Cubs are also looking to win their first World Series title since 1908.

So yeah, it's safe to say fans on the North Side of Chicago don't want to see Bryant surrounded by vicious sharks.
