Stephon Marbury has paid an ex-mistress nearly $1 million in so-called "hush money," according to TMZ.
The website reports that in 2006 Marbury, who was married at the time, and his personal chef, Thurayyah Mitchell, had an affair and later entered into a legal agreement where he would pay her $900,000 to keep it a secret.
TMZ reports Marbury cut the payments short after paying out just over $600,000, and his ex-mistress is now making noise about the affair. Mitchell took the former Knicks star to court to court and a judge agreed with her, ordering Marbury to pay the remainder of the balance.
According to new court documents, TMZ adds Marbury has now paid off the full outstanding debt of $341,153.
Marbury, 36, played 13 NBA seasons, including five seasons with his hometown Knicks. Over his career, he grossed upwards of $150 million in salary. The former Georgia Tech star has spent the last several seasons playing in China, winning a title with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association in 2012.
Tasha Marbury currently stars on the VH1 reality series Basketball Wives. She and the Brooklyn-born Marbury have been married since 2002.
