Instead of combating the media, CM Punk should finally step into the Octagon.

The former WWE Superstar-turned-UFC fighter has answered a lot of the same questions ever since he walked out on the WWE in January 2014 and signed with the UFC that December. Over a year later, he still hasn't entered the cage and is time-and-time again met with similar queries.

CM Punk Wants To Fight At Least 8 Times

The most notable things the "Best in the World" has been asked about is why he left the WWE, if he'll ever return to wrestling and if he realizes the significant difference between the two realms.

Bluntly, Punk is asked how he will be able to handle a real punch being thrown at him when his only background is the scripted world of professional wrestling where the bumps aren't always real.

"I get this question a lot, and it's like you guys think I'm an idiot," Punk said in an interview with Complex Magazine when asked the question yet again. "Like I didn't know MMA wasn't pre-determined or something like that."

Punk then grew testy and had a heated exchange with the reporter, Kevin Wong.

"Have you ever tweeted at me, 'Hey, do you know what you're getting into?'"

"I never have."

"Okay. It sounds like you might have."

"I don't mean to put you on the defensive..."

"I'm not on the defensive. Your question is insulting. You're asking me if I know the difference between the WWE and the UFC?"

"That's not what I'm asking."

"That's exactly what you're asking ... You say my fans say that? You're mistaken. My fans do not say that. I wouldn't say anything to them [my critics]. I don't justify stupidity with an answer. I don't give a s--t what anybody thinks of me, whether I'm going to fight or not. I know what I'm going to do. If I did anything in my life based on someone's negative opinion on me, I would never f--king leave my house. My fans are people who don't tweet negative s--t at me."

Punk wouldn't have to keep answering these questions if he'd just get into the Octagon already. The former WWE Champion has pushed his debut back several times, most recently due to an injury.

The Superstar has spent more time verbally jabbing the media and fans than he has taking on an opponent in the cage.

His debut is coming soon and obviously it's not something he should rush into, but if the former wrestler is going to take his time, he needs to understand these questions aren't going to stop.
