Manning Family Rumors: Archie May Have Tried To Reverse Jinx Panthers For What Could Be Peyton's Final Game [POLL, VIDEO]

Archie Manning may exude a quiet confidence, but when it comes to making predictions, he draws the line.

Perhaps the former quarterback is relying on a reverse jinx, but he believes the Panthers being favored over his son Peyton and the Broncos (now by 5 1/2 points via Pregame.com) is just about right.

Trading Peyton Manning To Rams Makes Sense For Both Sides

Archie, whose only advice to his son was "good luck and have fun," said he believes Denver should definitely be an underdog heading into the Super Bowl this Sunday.

"I don't advise gamblers," Archie told TMZ. "They know a lot more than I do. [The Broncos are underdogs] rightfully so, they're playing a real good team, but it'll be 0-0 when they kick off, so we'll see what happens."

Loss To Peyton Manning Will Make Cam Newton The LeBron James Of NFL

As for a prediction, the two-time Pro Bowler wasn't budging, perhaps not looking to jinx his own son in what could be the final game of his NFL career.

Archie has seen a lot of success on the gridiron from his sons as Peyton won the Super Bowl in 2007 and Eli Manning has two titles and two Super Bowl MVPs under his belt. Peyton has been mum about his future beyond Sunday, but there has been a lot of speculation that the 39-year-old signal caller will retire after the big game.

The Broncos were in this same spot two years ago, but Peyton and his team were blown out, 43-8, by the Seahawks at Super Bowl XLVIII.

Peyton is 1-2 in the Super Bowl in his career, while Eli is a perfect 2-0. Peyton will look to match his younger brother on Sunday, but Archie isn't being overly confident by predicting his son to win it all.

"No," Archie said, "no prediction."

Perhaps his quiet confidence and fatherly advice will pay off this Sunday in California at Super Bowl 50.
