Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is in a new relationship with rising R&B star Kehlani, but the starlet wants to stay away from the word “love” at this point.
“Am I in love? No, no, no, no, no. [Laughs]It’s very early. He definitely makes me very happy,” Kehlani said. The singer is being cautious because of the volatility of celebrity relationships, and the very packed life Irving is living right now.
Cavs Should Explore Trading Kyrie Irving, Not Kevin Love
Irving, 23, is a star player for the NBA’s most heavily-scrutinized team. He plays alongside the best basketball player in the world, LeBron James, and one of the most polarizing max-contract players in the sport, Kevin Love. His primary talent is scoring, despite playing a position that traditionally calls for distributing to teammates, opening him up to criticism.
Oh yeah, and he just became a dad. But not with Kehlani; Irving fathered a child with a woman named Andrea Wilson, once named Miss Texas. Check out Azurie Elizabeth Irving, named after Irving’s deceased mom.

With all that going on, Kehlani revealed to ILYMag.com that she worries their budding stardom could “complicate” their status.
“When in the limelight, and especially when it’s another person that’s in the limelight, it can get complicated real fast because not every relationship has millions of people tuning in or commenting every day. You have to make sure everything is communicated and solid, and that you’re happy, most of all.”
Since the Cavs fired their head coach David Blatt, the team has clicked better. Irving went off in overtime Monday night, scoring 15 OT points in a Cavaliers victory. If the basketball turmoil settles down, he and Kehlani should have a lot less complication in their lives.
