Many pundits may have believed John Scott didn't belong at the All-Star Game, but that didn't stop the enforcer from giving them something to remember Sunday night in Nashville.

Scott, who was controversially voted in by fans to captain the Pacific Division All-Star team despite having five goals and 11 points in his career, scored two goals and staged a fight with Central Division captain Patrick Kane during Game 2 of the three-game 3-on-3 festivities.

He then went on to earn MVP honors and a million dollars as the Pacific Division won the tournament. Scott is now expected to return to the Canadiens' AHL affilliate.

Scott's road to the All-Star Game was an interesting one as there were reports the league was trying to stop him from going, and he was traded from the Pacific Divison's Coyotes to the Canadiens of the Atlantic Division.

Best Performances In NHL All-Star Game History

Scott chronicled the whole ordeal in a post on the Players' Tribune. Perhaps the adversity helped him dazzle the crowd in Music City.

Million Dollar Performance

Jonathan Quick (10 saves) and Roberto Luongo (12) stood on their heads in the finals as the Pacific and Atlantic division went head-to-head. In the second half of the game, Corey Perry beat Ben Bishop for the only goal of the contest as the Pacific won 1-0.

Scott was peppered with "MVP" chants from the crowd and Nashville eventually got its wish, as he took home the honors as a write-in candidate.

Pacific Power

Scott helped the Pacific Division to what some may consider a surprising 9-6 defeat of the Central Division earlier on in the night. Scott, Daniel Sedin and Taylor Hall each scored two goals, while Drew Doughty, Johnny Gaudreau and Joe Pavelski each lit the lamp once.

For the Central, hometown hero James Neal had two goals, while fellow Predator Roman Josi tallied once along with Dustin Byfuglien, Tyler Seguin and Kane.

Lasting Impression

Red Wings rookie Dylan Larkin had a breakout game while representing the Atlantic Division in its tilt against the Metropolitan Division. Larkin had a game-high three assists in the team's 4-3 victory.

Erik Karlsson, Jaromir Jagr, Aaron Ekblad and P.K. Subban (game-winner) scored for the Atlantic, while Kris Letang, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Evgeni Malkin found the twine for the Metropolitan.
