We have Alexis Ohanian to thank for that.
Williams -- who was chasing Steffi Graf’s record of 22 Grand Slam titles -- was very humble and complimentary of Kerber following her defeat. As unexpected as it was, it was a nice change of pace for the 34-year-old.

Mind you, before Ohanian ever came into the picture, this was a Williams that refused to admit defeat … even though she clearly loss to Roberta Vinci at the 2015 U.S. Open.
”I mean, I won four Grand Slam [tournaments] in a row, and got to the semis in another one, and I’ve done that twice,” Williams said, defending her record, per For The Win. “I mean, how many people have done that?
“So, yeah, it wasn’t a loss for me, it was a win and a learning experience.”
What a difference a healthy relationship makes.
