Floyd Mayweather Jr. is retired, but he can’t stay away from boxing. He’s running a stable of fighters these days, and still talking trash about current fighters – without offering a chance to settle things in the ring. Mayweather is notoriously criticized for talking smack about his rivals and either ducking them, or fighting them past their primes.

Amir Khan may not be a fighter worth ducking, but he believes he is, and Mayweather has passed up multiple opportunities to fight him. The pair got into a shouting match Saturday night at Danny Garcia’s fight on Fox for PBC, and, as usual, Mayweather threw his riches in Khan’s face after Khan challenged him.

Some Guesses As To How Mayweather Is Still Making Seven Figures a Month

Khan said (via Boxing Scene) that Mayweather shouted at him, “’Look I make $300 million a fight, you can’t touch me. Nobody can be like me, I’m the best.’” Mayweather took a similar tact in a rant he delivered to FightHype.com, in which he traversed old ground, mocking Golden Boy Promotions boss Oscar De La Hoya for past drug use and cross-dressing.

“I don’t respect a man that dresses in drag,” Mayweather said while also discussing how great it is to work with Al Haymon and ex-Golden Boy executive Richard Schaefer who are “drug free.” Then he denigrated De La Hoya’s accomplishments in the ring, trumpeting his own bank account figures to seal the argument.

“He like to say I’m a boring fighter, I like to run. Yeah, I like to run straight to the bank. And since he feel like he accomplished more than me, let’s see. I could take him to one account and show him $450 million. What can he show me? That’s just one account.”

He closed his Fight Hype interview with some harsh words for Canelo Alvarez, De La Hoya’s top fighter, whom Mayweather defeated in 2013. But the two rants are familiar. Mayweather offered little substance, gave no indication of an impending fight, and reminded the world how rich he is.
