Danny Garcia is the new WBC welterweight champion, taking over from the retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. after hacking out a unanimous decision win over Robert Guerrero.
Garcia also kept his win-loss record unblemished, as he remains undefeated in 32 fights.

“It was a great fight,” Garcia said via the National. “I felt I won the fight clearly and the judges said the same thing.”
With the WBC belt now officially around his waist, Amir Khan should be the next in line since he was earlier named the mandatory challenger by the WBC. He is, however, not the only name floating in the air, with other familiar names in the mix.

That includes Kell Brook, the current IBF champion. But for that to happen, Brook will have to agree to fly across the Atlantic, according to Bleacher Report.
Brook is slated to enter this ring this March as he takes on Kevin Bizier to defend his IBF crown.
Then there is also Keith Thurman, who sort of hinted some interest on the belt when Garcia got it.
“That green belt looks pretty good,” Thurman said. “I would like to see it around my waist later this year.”
Though he may be a long shot, Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s name was also in the mix. The undefeated American was at ringside to witness the fight. Though, he iimmediately shot down the idea, saying that there are a lot of other fighters out there who could be considered.
“As of right now, I don’t have the urge to fight,” says Mayweather. “There’s a lot of great talent out there.”
