Robert Griffin III meet Jon Bostic.

As the Chicago Bears prepare for their upcoming tilt with the Washington Redskins this Sunday, one of the more intriguing subplots centers around RGIII being shadowed by one of the NFL's hardest-hitting young linebackers.

Bostic was recently inserted into the Bears starting lineup after DJ Williams suffered a season-ending torn pectoral muscle injury. The 22-year-old linebacker's reputation precedes him.

Already the former Florida star has been fined $21,000 this season for a hit he delivered on San Diego Chargers wideout Mike Willie during the preseason that critics derided as simply " too hard" of a hit. More recently, league officials investigated him for a bone-crushing hit he administered on Detroit Lions receiver Kris Durham.

With RGIII still arguably less than full speed following offseason knee surgery, many are surmising there will be some sort of memorable encounter between RGIII and the 6-1, 245 pound rookie linebacker in the nation's capital this weekend.

No matter what comes to be, Bostic may want to be prudent in going about performing the duties of his job. The Florida rookie is scheduled to earn a $405,000 base salary this season, in addition to a $1,246,036 signing bonus. But the fine imposed on him for the Willie hit resulted in the loss of an entire game check.
