The WWE appeared to finally be taking The Wyatt Family seriously at the end of RAW this week, but they may have already butchered the storyline.

When the flagship show went off the air, Bray Wyatt's stable dismantled Brock Lesnar and made him look human, getting over in the process. It seemed to be building toward a big Bray vs. Lesnar showdown, but that may not be the case at all.

Booking Decisions The WWE Needs For Successful Royal Rumble

Though it appeared the "Eater of Worlds" and "The Beast" were destined to collide, there has been a lot of talk of having Braun Strowman represent the group against Lesnar at WrestleMania 32, according to PWInsider (via WrestlingInc). That match is quite disappointing.

The WWE should book Lesnar to have to run through the stable to finally get his hands on Bray, the leader, at the biggest show of the year. Lesnar could tear through Erick Rowan and Luke Harper on RAW, battle Strowman at Fastlane on Feb. 21 and then face-off with Wyatt at WrestleMania on April 3.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Still Interested In Match With Brock Lesnar

That is the logical direction the WWE should go in, but instead, the company is apparently leading toward having Strowman represent The Wyatt Family against Lesnar at the biggest show of the year. Wyatt is clearly the marquee draw in the family, even if the 6-foot-8, 385-pound Strowman is the muscle of the group.

It's great that the WWE is finally giving The Wyatt Family some direction, but it can't seriously have Strowman battle Lesnar over Wyatt.

Wyatt has gone head-to-head with marquee names at his first two WrestleManias, falling to John Cena in 2014 and then losing to The Undertaker last year. While going 0-3 at the "Show of Shows" is a strong possibility if he battles "The Beast," continuing to put on big matches against the WWE's biggest names will further establish the "New Face of Fear" as a credible threat.

Vince McMahon has always had an affinity for big men -- that's no secret -- but there's no reason why Strowman should get the huge match against Lesnar over Wyatt.
