John Cena and Nikki Bella are both sidelined to start 2016, but the WWE Diva could be on her way back to action.

Bella hasn't been seen in the WWE since October as she's been dealing with bulging discs in her back, while Cena, her real-life boyfriend, underwent shoulder surgery earlier this month. Though it's uncertain how long Cena will be out, he's unlikely to be back in time for WrestleMania 32 on April 3.

While Cena is out for at least a few more months, Bella could be inching her way back to the WWE ring. The longest-reigning Divas Champion in WWE history tweeted a photo of her at the doctor's office patiently awaiting her fate and hoping that a return is imminent.

It seems things are getting better for Bella, as multiple reports indicated she was backstage during Monday Night RAW this week at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. If everything goes well with her latest visit to the doctor, Bella could be leaving her boyfriend on the sidelines pretty soon and returning to action.

The WWE has dealt with a lot of injury woes as of late as Nikki's sister Brie's husband Daniel Bryan (concussion), Randy Orton (shoulder), Cesaro (shoulder), Seth Rollins (leg/knee) and Cena are just a few of the Superstars who have been riddled with injuries.

The Divas haven't had it much better. Sasha Banks is missing time with an undisclosed injury and along with Bella, that's two of the WWE's top ladies. Natalya and Paige were also ailing, but both ladies have since returned.

Bella could be the next Diva to strike a comeback, but her boyfriend has a long road to recovery.

Now, Cena might be licking his wounds all by himself, while his girlfriend returns to the rigorous traveling schedule that is the WWE.
