Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is not for sale. Apparently, Liverpool didn't get that memo. The club is desperate to sign him this transfer window, per Fichajes.net.

Hernandez was pulled off the market by Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller on Jan. 3.

Chicharito Was Right To Leave Manchester United

"We are a football club and it is important that we are successful," he told Sky Sport News, per Goal. "Chicharito has played a big part in our success so far, through his style of play, through his goals. That's why we brought him here. In the first half of the season, everything has worked out fine.

"It's easy to reject offers when you are in a position in which you don't need to sell. We are in such a position. We will keep the players we want to help us achieve our goals."

Alexis Sanchez Wants Javier Hernandez At Arsenal

Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp, however, are far more concerned with their goals.

Not objectives, literally goals.

Only seven Premier League clubs have scored less than Liverpool (25) this campaign: Stoke City (24), Crystal Palace (23), West Bromwich (22), Norwich City (24), Swansea City (20), Newcastle (24) and Aston Villa (18). It's no coincidence that five of those clubs are in the bottom half of the table.

Just for comparison, Hernandez alone has 19 goals for Bayer Leverkusen across all competition, per WhoScored.

Liverpool will need to overpay to acquire his production, but with a place in the top four still within sight, it's a risk worth taking.
