Tonight at 8:00 p.m. the Montreal Canadiens (3-2-0, 6 points) will travel to Winnipeg to face the Jets (3-3-0, 6 points) at the MTS Centre, in NHL action that can be live streamed here. Candiens fans can hear the game on TSN 690, while Winnipeg fans should tune in to TSN 1290.
Winnipeg has gotten off to an up-and-down start this season, and was looking for stability when they promoted 22-year-old winger Evander Kane to the top line. "I take it upon myself to be one of the leaders in this room and on the ice," Kane said. "Whatever area I feel I need to lead in, whatever the situation is in the game, I want to do that, and I try to do that as much as I can."
Kane scored two goals in a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils in his first game with the new line, although coach Claude Noel refused to commit to any of his lines being permanent. "I just thought the guys played better," Noel said. "We'll see where the lines go, but for us right now we've got a lot of positives to build on." After Kane's response, though, it'd be a surprise if he was moved again.
Montreal is already 2-1 on the road this year, and getting excellent netminding from Carey Price. "I've really liked what I've seen from Carey Price since the start of the season," coach Michel Therrien said. "He's in control, his positioning is good and he's making key saves. (Saturday) was definitely his best game of the year."
The Habs are giving up just two goals per game, and Price saved 39 shots on Saturday. "It's probably the best hockey I've seen him play, and that says a lot," said Montreal center Lars Eller said. "He kept us in the game. I don't know how. Unbelievable performance."
