Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez could've transferred to Milan, London or even the United States, but his decision to move to Bayer Leverkusen was the correct one -- at least that's what Juan Carlos Osorio thinks.
The Mexico national team head coach, speaking to Bild, believes Hernandez's summer-time switch was an incisive decision.
Manchester United Almost Ruined Javier Hernandez's Career
"Joining Leverkusen was a very good decision. He again showed that he is capable of making the right calls," Osorio said, per Mirror. "The club, the team, the fans, they are all enjoying his quality. I already knew that he had the quality to become a great striker when he was at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
"There are a few real strikers out there who can score great goals and he is among the world's best. He is a real predator in front of goal. He already showed his potential when he just moved to Europe and he is now showing what he can really do.
"It is not easy for any striker to have such a good goal-to-games ratio. I never doubted him, but you always have to show it in such a strong league. It is fantastic. I hope he can keep this up."
Alexis Sanchez Wants Javier Hernandez At Arsenal
Hernandez's form -- 19 goals across all competitions for Leverkusen -- will bode well for Mexico this summer. El Tri will compete in both the 2016 Summer Olympics and Copa America Centenario.
Just don't expect to see Hernandez at both events.
"From our ideal point of view, for the club, it would be ideal if Chicharito played one of the two events, but not both," Leverkusen sporting director Jonas Boldt told ESPN Deportes.
Either way, whether it's Rio 2016 or the Copa America, Osorio will have the benefit of fielding one of the most in-form strikers this summer all because of his decision to leave Old Trafford.
