Deontay Wilder disposed of challenger Artur Szpilka via devastating knockout in the ninth round to retain his WBC title at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Though Wilder appeared to be sluggish during some parts of the match, it was his crushing right hand on Szpilka that ended any hope by the Polish to overcome his American counterpart.

After the fight, Szpilka lay flat on the canvass and had to be stretchered out of the arena. The latest on his condition seems to be positive, updated via a tweet showing a picture of him with the thumbs up sign. He also apologized to the fans on the same post.

But more than that, it was the post-game taunts involving Wilder and Tyson Fury that got a bit chippy.

Wanderlei Silva Facing Rough Road Ahead To Continue Career

"There's only one Tyson Fury," yelled the British champion (via SkySports) at Wilder to which the latter challenged Fury to set a date for them to get it on.

“You're just a phony. This is just an act," replied Wilder Bleacher Report. "You know where I am. You know what time, what place. I ain't scared of nobody, I'll come to your backyard, baby. I don't play this. You should have been an actor. When we do step in the ring, this ain't wrestling, this ain't the WWE, baby."

The newly developed heat between Fury and Wilder should be interesting, posing the question on whether the fight will take place soon. Standing in the way is Wladimir Klitschko, who will be looking for payback against Fury.

Right now, the camps of Fury and Klitschko are negotiating, but an official announcement on when the rematch will take place should be coming out soon as reported via Boxing News 24.
