To date, this is perhaps the closest any UFC fan will get to as far as seeing CM Punk debuting in the UFC.

Though the latest on the former WWE star’s status remains mum, it seems White has plotted the seeds for his UFC debut already. So if plans fall into place, we may see finally see Punk show if he truly deserves to be in the UFC.

The thing is there is no word yet on when he will actually fight. There are two events being mentioned right now with UFC 199 in June and UFC 200 in July. Of the two however, it seems that the former is what White has in mind according to the Bloody Elbow.

Now before concluding, there are prerequisites to satisfy. Punk’s looming opponent has to keep his end of the bargain and that is to win over newcomer Michael Jackson at UFC 196 on Feb. 6 via Fox Sports.

White also revealed that Punk will be around to watch Gall at the said pay-per-view. If Gall wins his second consecutive fight, Punk will have likely seen who he will be up against at UFC 199, unless changes crop up.

Right now, there is no word on how far Punk has gone as far as his preparations and trainings under Duke Roufus is concerned. He got injured in late 2015 and there has been no word yet on his progress.

With that said, it may be one of the reasons why White believes Punk will find the going rough in the UFC.

"You know the guy has never fought, he's just started training and, you know... this is a tough business to get into," White said via the Toucher & Rich Show.

He continued: "When Brock Lesnar came into the UFC, you know, he had a serious wrestling pedigree. And not just WWE wrestling, legit collegiate wrestling. CM Punk doesn't have any of that. It's going to be tough for him."
