Things just went from bad to worse for the Bulls, but perhaps even more for veteran center Joakim Noah.

Noah saw his spot taken over by Bobby Portis when he suffered a small tear in his shoulder in December, forcing him to the sidelines. Deemed as nothing really serious, the thing is Portis has been shining and many felt that Noah could be headed elsewhere soon.

Nothing really transpired tied up to a possible deal, but all that could be immaterial now with Noah suffering a second setback on the same shoulder. Worse, it could be the NBA vet’s last game for this season per the Chicago Sun-Times.

Though MRI results have yet to be seen, Noah’s anguish says it all per ESPN. A suspected dislocated shoulder will likely keep him on the sidelines.

Noah is all set to become a free agent by season’s end and his bargaining power may have just been hit. Any trade talks involving Noah will likely be senseless at this point so the latest debacle may have just brought out complications as far as his future with the Bulls is concerned.

What the Bulls will be missing is the energy, and of course, the muscle that Noah normally brings. Those are perhaps the key things that Noah brings that Portis or any other Bull right now doesn’t have.

With Noah most likely out, it will be interesting to see what adjustments Fred Hoiberg implements. The Bulls are doing fine right now, but the real wars have yet to come. And all that starts in the postseason where the Bulls are hoping to do better than their Eastern Conference finals appearance last year.
