These nasty little Grand Slam events seem to be interrupting Caroline Wozniacki's love life.
While the Danish tennis star prepares for next week's Australian Open, New Zealand rugby player Shaun Johnson, who highlighted one of Wozniacki's post-match press conferences at the ASB Classic by posing as a journalist and engaging in a playful back-and-forth with her, appears to be interested in someone else romantically, according to stuff.co.nz.
Caroline Wozniacki Continues To Flirt With Shaun Johnson
Kayla Cullen, a New Zealand volleyball player who participated with Johnson at a celebrity doubles tennis match during the ASB Classic, posted several photos of herself with Johnson on her Instagram account.
"We're great friends and enjoy spending time together like all friends do; I've got nothing more to say," Cullen told news.com.au when asked about the relationship.
Flirty Caroline Wozniacki Could Be Australian Open Favorite
The photos, taken from what appears to be different venues for each, suggest the relationship is past the friendship stage.
And that is too bad for Wozniacki, whose 2016 focus is on breaking through and winning the first major of her career. A former No. 1 player in 2010-2011, Wozniacki has appeared in two Grand Slam finals -- the 2009 and 2014 U.S. Open finals -- but has yet to capture a championship.
Wozniacki continues to be linked with male professional athletes -- she reportedly dated Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and has been linked to Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan and Celtics forward David Lee, in addition to Johnson.
The current No. 17 player in the world was engaged to golfer Rory McIlroy in 2014 before he broke up with her over the phone during that spring. Her focus for 2016 appears to be the Australian Open and the year's other Grand Slams.
