1) Warrior Nation

There could be trouble in paradise early between these two new lovebirds. Kehlani is from the Bay Area and is a die-hard Golden State supporter, according to TMZ. As if the Cavaliers losing to the Warriors in the NBA Finals last year wasn't enough, Irving has to live with the knowledge that his new girlfriend reveled in the loss.

2) Tough Upbringing

Kehlani never properly met her father because he passed away a few months after she was born. Her mother also dealt with drug issues and was in and out of prison, leading to her aunt raising her in Oakland, according to KehlaniMusic.com.

3) Kehlani's Got Talent

When she was in eighth grade, Kehlani joined the teen pop group PopLyfe. The group was a finalist on "America's Got Talent," where the singer even got to perform alongside Stevie Wonder in the finals.

4) Cloud 19

Kehlani's first mixtape was entitled "Cloud 19" and was released on Aug. 26, 2014. The R&B star's debut was ranked No. 28 on Complex's 50 Best Albums of 2014 year-end awards.

5) No Sophomore Slump

Kehlani's second mixtape "You Should Be Here" dropped last April and after the success of her first one, things only got better. Kehlani's latest effort debuted at No. 2 on the national R&B charts.
