UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm got her wish and she will face Miesha Tate at UFC 197 in Las Vegas this March.

After the UFC had initial reservations since they seemingly wanted to preserve Holm for Ronda Rousey, the uncertainty surrounding the former UFC champion’s return may have just forced the hand of UFC president Dana White, according to Bleacher Report.

So as it turns out, Holm can heave a big sigh of relief and not be left idle for the next six months with the assumption that Rousey will be ready by UFC 200. Right now, not many are convinced that Rousey will have recovered by then.

Against Tate, Holm knows she needs to come up with a new fight plan. It is a totally different fight and she understands that Tate and Rousey are two entirely different individuals.

"Miesha Tate's a whole different fighter than Ronda," Holm said via Fox Sports. "Every fighter's different. I feel she has a pretty well-rounded game, she's kind of one of those scrappy fighters from any position."

And rightfully so, Tate doesn’t intend to make it easy for Holm who needs to make sure she retains that title and not spoil a much awaited rematch with Rousey.

"It's about time, it's about experience and I think that the fight is an entirely different matchup and I like that matchup with Holly," Tate told Fox Sports. "I think it would make a fantastic fight."
