Kobe Bryant continues to swim towards the end of his career but unfortunately the tides have been rough.

Try as he might, his scoring efforts haven’t been significant compared to yesteryears, but then again it is not entirely his fault. With the Lakers making do with a rag-tag team, Kobe just has to go along with the ride regardless how forgettable this season will be for the purple and gold.

Bryant is trying to become a spark, but it is evident that he isn’t the same superstar that could make a difference with vets chipping in. That almost happened when the Kings squandered a 27-point lead on Thursday, but such wasn’t meant to be.

So in the end, the Lakers have lost yet another game but at least Bryant got some sort of consolation when the smoke cleared.

With his farewell game in Sacramento, it would later be reported that Kobe has just added another feather to his colorful career by becoming the third player to score 33,000 career points, as reported by the Bleacher Report.

Such was a consolation of sorts for Kobe, who will likely open a lot of opportunities for the Lakers once he plays his last game.

One reason why the Lakers have been unable to drag in good players is that a lot of the money has been tied up with the Black Mamba. All that changes when Kobe’s contract ends.

Aside from players, it won’t be surprising if Scott gets booted out or promoted somewhere else in the Lakers organization. As a head coach, he has not been the ideal one to whip up the new kids on the block and his iron-hand approach hasn’t produced anything worthy.
