The Lakers continue to struggle and personal rifts from within are certainly not helping.

Julius Randle was disgruntled recently for not being given enough playing time. His displeasure was seen when as he was headed towards the bench in a win over the Suns on Sunday.

Byron Scott obviously noticed, which led him to make the following remarks via ESPN.

"He's got to grow up," Scott said Monday after the Lakers' practice at their facility. "Simple as that."

Scott clarified that while he wanted Randle to man up, he hasn’t lost faith in the sophomore player.

He initiated talks with Randle in an effort to get him back on track, as mentioned via Lakers Nation. From the looks of it, Scott’s initiative may have finally shed light and direction to the former Kentucky Wildcat.

It remains to be seen if that talk can rebuild the seemingly lost confidence of Randle. He is considered one of the key building blocks for the Lakers of the future, alongside fellow sophomore player Jordan Clarkson and rookie guard D’Angelo Russell.

While it is understandable for a young player like Randle to be frustrated by not being able to help the team, it remains that he has a lot of work to do to position himself among the elite and reliable forwards in the NBA.

One glaring waterloo is his jump shot. Randle does most of his work on the inside and such could become predictable for other teams.

The Lakers plan to correct that in the offseason so Randle just needs to add a little bit more patience to finally get into the groove of the system that Scott has in mind.
