Billy Joe Saunders has finally come out in the open and responded to the reported offer made by Gennady Golovkin’s camp for a possible fight this coming Apr. 23.

While Saunders seems to be all for it, he wants a couple of things ironed out.

Holly Holm Doesn't Want To Wait Around For Ronda Rousey

One is that the newly crowned WBO champion wants the fight to take place in England, and the other is that he wants more money for the fight to happen.

The initial offer seems to be around $2 million, which Saunders isn’t exactly impressed with.

While it does sound that Saunders is pushing his luck, he seems to have a good reason for doing so, as mentioned on Boxing Scene. And considering Golovkin’s goal is to unify all the belts, the Briton feels Triple G’s manager Oleg Hermann can do better.

"They've got to pay me more money than I would get for the Chris Eubank Jr. rematch. Now I'm world champion I've got options and I could make my money elsewhere. Most definitely the fight with Golovkin will happen at some point, most definitely," Saunders said.

With the demands of Saunders, it will be interesting to see how Triple G and Hermann will respond. Prior to Saunder’s statements, Hermann was unsure if the newly minted WBO champ was interested in fighting Golovkin.

Apparently he now has his answer, though it comes with conditions.
