--Montreal has taken two of three games from Boston this season, but the Bruins notched a 3-1 victory in the most recent meeting between these teams on Dec. 9.

--Bruins forward Brad Marchand won't play after the league handed down a three-game suspension to him for clipping Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki in Tuesday's game. The Canadiens will get Brendan Gallagher back after he missed 17 games with a hand injury.

--Montreal has played two outdoor games in its history, defeating Ottawa, 4-3, in the 2003 Heritage Classic, and falling to Calagary, 4-0, at the same event in 2011. Boston, meanwhile, has played two outdoor games as well, with one being an exhibition in 1956 and the other a 2-1 overtime victory over Philadelphia in the 2010 Winter Classic.
