The countdown continues for Kobe Bryant and his last stop was place to many of his iconic battles.

The place is the TD Garden in Boston, a familiar place which saw Kobe do damage in the 2008 and 2010 NBA Finals. 2008 was of course sweeter since it was the year the Celtics won the NBA title at the expense of the Lakers.

"I can't believe this is the last time I'm going to be here. It seems like just yesterday we were playing in the finals," he said via NBA.com

While those memories will forever linger in the minds of people who were able to recall and watch those great runs, the fact remains that Kobe still has a place in the hearts of the basketball-crazy Boston fanatics.

"It's a weird feeling walking across center court, looking down at that logo. I tried to cherish it as much as I can," adds Bryant.

His final appearance ended on a positive note with Kobe helping the Lakers close out the Celtics, 112-104. Though his numbers weren’t eye-popping, Bryant still managed to finish with a double-double (15 points and 11 rebounds).

Prior to the game, Kobe was privately handed a piece of the Boston’s iconic parquet floor as mentioned via the Bleacher Report. The said piece was something from the court where the Lakers and the Celtics squared off in 2010. The Celtics replaced the flooring prior to the 2015-16 NBA season.

When the final buzzer sounded, Celtic players lined up to give Kobe their final respects – a heartwarming tribute given to a select number of NBA greats.

Will he consider changing his mind?

"Zero," he said. "I feel completely at peace. Truly at peace. It's time."
