John Cena jumped to the defense of Peyton Manning -- and himself -- in the wake of HGH allegations.

In a documentary, Al Jazeera alleged, and later backtracked, that the Broncos quarterback used his wife's name to acquire HGH in 2011 when he was still with the Colts and recovering from neck surgery.

Reporter Deborah Davies then told "The Today Show" that she didn't accuse Manning of taking HGH, but just confirmed that his wife received it in 2011. Cena appeared on that very same program on Tuesday and supported Manning while defaming the reports.

"In this documentary, you basically have a giant door of speculation that has been opened," Cena said. "There's nothing proof positive."

The 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion also talked about the WWE's policy against performance-enhancing drugs. Cena said the WWE implemented it a decade ago and Superstars are "randomly tested all year."

Cena then took the defensive from his perspective as people always question the muscular wrestler about whether or not he's on something.

"The Peyton Manning question is a little bit more spectacular because it's now a wide-range media story," Cena said, "but all the time I'll walk into a room, the first thing everyone says is, 'Wow, he's big he must be doing this.' It's just a very, very difficult thing. Because we have a lot of families, we have a lot of kids and you want to be that role model."

The "Cenation" leader said the only way to prove the doubters wrong is to keep everything clean and pass the tests, which so far he's done throughout his illustrious WWE career.
