Some things are better scripted, which could be why an ex-pro wrestler is criticizing Michael Jordan.
Michael Jordan, current owner of the Hornets, recorded a video message for retiring Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant that appeared on the arena's scoreboard before L.A.'s game in Charlotte on Monday night.

Bryant called Jordan's message "awesome," according to Lakersnation.com, but there was at least one dissenter.
ESPN reported that Jordan was on vacation, which is why he wasn't at the game for Kobe's last appearance in Charlotte, but that's not what got ESPN anchor Jonathan Coachman a bit riled.

Coachman took exception to a comment Jordan made to Bryant about having to figure out how to apply his competitive drive without basketball, as Jordan did.
"He goes into the whole day-to-day 'When you are done, you're going to have to figure out how to get that competitive drive within you,'" Coachman said during a stint as guest host on Russillo and Kanell, "which tells me that even after all these years, Michael Jordan is still very unhappy with the fact that he's never been able to find anything as good as basketball within him, which I think is sad.
"To put that into a 'Congratulations, Kobe' video, I had an issue with."
Wow. Talk about reading into something.
Coachman also took exception that it appeared Jordan recorded his message in one take, when he should've done multiple recordings to make sure to deliver the best message he could.
"When I do SportsCenter here, I have somebody standing there when I'm doing a take or whatever," Coachman ranted. "And if it's not good, the producer will tell me, 'That wasn't good; do it over.' Who's standing there for Michael? That was horrible!"
Or, it was just an off-the-cuff, heartfelt message from Jordan that Bryant could see wasn't fake or rehearsed.
You be the judge.
