It looks like Adrien “The Problem” Broner, the loudest mouth in boxing with Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired, is out of the running to be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent. Upon learning that information, Broner took to social media to prove why he was passed over by Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum.

"We had a real nice meeting with Michael and he understands. So we're going with the original group and we'll see where it goes from there," Arum said. The original group consists of Timothy Bradley (1-1 vs. Pacquiao), Terence Crawford, and Amir Khan.

Fighting Broner Is Lucrative, But Risky

In response, Broner had this to say.

In one tweet, Broner crushed his chances of facing Pacquiao in the future if he decides to continue his career beyond April 2016, and may have ruined potential future bouts vs. Arum’s Top Rank stable.

'Money' Mayweather Spending Like He Has A Second Pacquiao Payday Coming

Broner’s position in boxing is precarious. He has a big name, but he doesn’t have the results to withstand another high-profile loss. Few fighters are his age (26) with three titles in as many weight classes, but Broner’s victories have come mostly against B-level competition. He was knocked down twice by Marcos Maidana, dominated by Shawn Porter, and only managed a split-decision vs. Paul Malignaggi to win his welterweight title.

Fighting Pacquiao could have been a major detriment to Broner, but he also won’t do himself any favors by fighting 35-year-old Ashley Theophane next. Broner’s next move will be monitored closely, but it won’t be Pacquiao he shares the ring with.
